The role of clinician-scientists in modern oncology

Expert: Christos Sotiriou, Institute Jules Bordet, Bruxelles, BE Questions: 1-How do you define clinician-scientists?  2-In 2014 Baumal et al reported  that the number of clinician-scientists has decreased ,do you think this is the case in 2021 too?    -if yes could you elaborate on reasons behind graduates opting out of this option  3-Are mentors determining the path fellows are taking in regard to clinician-scientists? 4-Is it more beneficial to do science and clinics separately? 5-What is the benefit to society of clinicians conducting scientific research?
