Crystal Rivers | Word for Now | Jun 23, 2025 You must understand that as a believer, you carry within yourself the complete life, power, wisdom, and nature of Christ. This isn't metaphorical—it's your actual spiritual reality. The same power that created the heavens and earth resides within you. However, this divine inheritance exists in varying degrees of tangibility depending on your spiritual state, and for most believers, it remains largely inaccessible due to what scripture calls "seven seals" that must be broken. These seals represent different manifestations of carnality—fleshly thinking, worldly desires, and natural ways of processing life that create a barrier between your soul and the spiritual realities that belong to you. The carnal mind cannot receive anything from God, which means that even if God were to pour out His fullness upon you, carnality would prevent you from interacting with what He releases. This is why many believers live spiritually powerless lives despite carrying infinite power within them. Sin didn't begin with specific acts like stealing or adultery—it originated when humanity chose to fellowship with something other than God. When Adam and Eve engaged with Satan's deception, they didn't just disobey; they aligned themselves with a different source of inspiration and life. Spiritual death means losing divine inspiration while remaining active under corrupted influence, much like how physical death occurs when the life-giving systems stop functioning while decomposition begins. The condemnation described in Romans 7 isn't the guilt you feel after sinning—it's the captivity that makes you do wrong when you want to do right. It's the internal law that wars against your mind, preventing you from living according to your true nature in Christ. This condemnation creates a cycle where you see what's good, desire to do it, but find yourself unable to perform it consistently due to competing forces within your soul. Breaking these seals requires intentional engagement with spiritual disciplines that invite the Holy Spirit's outpouring. This means dedicating significant time to prayer in tongues, extended periods in God's word, fasting, worship, and various forms of spiritual communion that tear away the "veil of prayerlessness" that Satan uses to keep you dull to spiritual realities. Some believers have spent months in intensive prayer—six to twelve hours daily—and experienced breakthrough into supernatural dimensions of God's presence. Understand this clearly: you don't need to "pay a price" for spiritual power or God's blessings. Christ has already paid for everything. Your situation is like having money in the bank but being unable to access it because someone's hand is blocking the ATM card slot. The money is yours—you just need to remove the obstruction. The obstruction is carnality, worldliness, and the fleshly life that makes your spiritual inheritance untangible. Spiritual breakthrough requires sustained practice, not sporadic effort. You must build an appetite for God's presence the same way appetites develop for anything else—through consistent exposure and engagement. If you're not enjoying prayer time, struggling to spend time in God's word, or finding it difficult to connect with spiritual realities, you have a carnality problem that needs direct confrontation. Find your specific "prayer posture"—whether it's praying in tongues, worship, meditation, contemplation, dancing before the Lord, or using your imagination to commune with Jesus. Some people break through by embracing the Lord in their imagination, others through speaking aloud to God, others through extended intercession. Discover what creates the strongest connection for you and use that method to systematically dismantle carnality in your life. The ultimate objective is to live from the "book of life" written within you—accessing and expressing the specific calling, abilities, and spiritual realities
